Corrections to a sourced figure are made in the figure registry, which updates every page that uses it at the next build. If you are reporting a stale figure, the retrieval date on the methodology page tells you how old the one on the site is.

What makes a report easy to act on

Three things, and none of them requires you to be polite about it. Name the page and the figure — "the natural gas price on the energy prices page" is enough. Say what you believe the right value is and where you saw it, ideally the publisher's own page rather than a summary of it. And say what you were doing when the number looked wrong, because a figure that is correct in general and absurd for one input usually means a boundary case the model handles badly rather than a bad constant.

Reports about the model itself are equally welcome, and are usually more valuable. If you have measured your own pool's evaporation, or you have a heat pump datasheet with capacity at two air temperatures, or you know an assumption on this site is wrong for a whole class of pools, that is information no published source supplies and it is exactly what the assumption list is waiting for.

What this site cannot help with

• Diagnosing a specific heater fault. That needs somebody standing in front of it with a manometer. Nothing on this site troubleshoots equipment.
• Recommending a contractor. No contractor pays to appear here and none is listed. A local pool builders' association and your permit office both know who is licensed in your area, and both are better sources than a website.
• Recommending a product by name. The heat-pump page will derate any unit you have a datasheet for, which is the part that generalises. Choosing between two specific models is a job for their published performance data, not for us.
• Reviewing a quote line by line. The payback page does the arithmetic on two quoted numbers. Whether a quote is fair for your market is a question for two more quotes.
• Code and permit questions. Gas supply sizing, combustion clearances, electrical service and equipotential bonding are governed by your jurisdiction, and only your jurisdiction can answer them.

Response

Corrections to a figure are the priority and are usually the fastest to make, because a figure exists in exactly one file. Changes to the model take longer, because a change to the physics has to be checked against every page that uses it before it ships. Either way, a correction that lands is recorded on the methodology page rather than made silently.
